Human-centred documentary photography + contemporary art, rooted in story, care and reciprocity.

Pippa Hetherington

My work.

I work with the marrow that feeds conversations and dialogue. My studio builds flesh around the bones of stories that must be told. I step nakedly into the exchange. Not to take a picture - but to give myself over in the exchange, with capacity to engage, deepen, and change.

Projects/Archive

My practice is built on attention.

On relationship. On what rises to the surface.

Photography as exchange, with context and care at every stage.

“What drew me into Pippa Hetherington’s work, not only as a photo-journalist but as an artist, is how her work navigates the treacherous politics of empathy….artists rise and die on the basis of their work.”
