I am a photographic artist working in contemporary art and documentary practice.

Over more than two decades, my studio has traced post-colonial identity, inherited memory, female-focused dialogues, and personal and collective histories - often in places where erasure, grief, and belonging are woven into the story.

Pippa Hetherington Studio is the vessel and conduit for this work: a space for long-form inquiry, collaborative exchange, and material experimentation. A place where relationship-led, inquiry-driven work respects people as participants. I don’t capture anything or anyone. It is me who is captured by them.
